I have no greater joy than to hear that my children
are walking in the truth.
— III John 1:4

In the 1st-5th grades, our goal is to help each child build a foundation for life that is based on Scripture, fostered by love, and encouraged by example. Our desire is for each child to see how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit worked in the past and how they are active in our lives today.

We pray that this will help each child develop a faith of his/her own.

1st Grade

Treasuring the Bible

The 1st graders learn how we got the Bible, why the Bible is important, what is in the Bible, and how to share the Bible with others. This class learns stories from the Old and New Testaments.

2nd Grade

Genesis through Joshua

Through the study of Genesis and Exodus, the second graders learn that our God is the great creator who has created everything good. He is faithful and true to His promises and wants all people to know, love, obey, and worship Him.

3rd Grade

Judges through Malachi

Our 3rd grade classes start at Judges and finish the Old Testament books focusing on six main principles:

  1. God is a forgiving God. Throughout this study, we discover that the Israelites often wandered away from God in pursuit of idol worship. When they returned in repentance, God always forgave them and welcomed them back.
  2. Good kings were ones who followed God’s instructions. Bad kings did things their own way or followed the advice of ungodly people.
  3. A prophet spoke God’s words, like Daniel, Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, and Jonah.
  4. The prophets stood up for what was right even when others tried to kill them.
  5. Whenever God said something was going to happen, it happened.
  6. God keeps His promises.

4th Grade

Matthew through John

Our main focus is to study the life of Christ — how He lived, how He loved, how He served — so we can be His disciples.

5th Grade

Acts & the Epistles

Through the resurrection of Christ and the coming of the Holy Spirit, we learn how the lives of the apostles and the first century Christians were radically changed. We will make connections to how our lives can be changed today through that same power.
